How the calculator works
Thailand fishing trips are unusually predictable on cost — the gap between cheap and expensive is wide, but each tier has a tight band. A Bungsamran day with budget accommodation will fall in a tight $50–150 envelope. A Gillham's package week is a tight $1,500–3,500 envelope. The calculator estimates by multiplying daily fishing cost ranges by your day count and adding accommodation and local transport.
The numbers come from our cost articles, which we maintain as honest ranges rather than fixed figures because Thai prices change. A small monsoon-season discount is built into the lower end of each range.
What the calculator includes
- Daily fishing cost — venue day-fee or charter rate per person, plus typical extras (bait, ice, basic tackle hire).
- Accommodation — per-night rate at the tier you select, multiplied by nights.
- Local transport — Grab/taxi to and from venues.
What it does not include
- International flights — varies wildly by origin city and season.
- Alcohol, restaurant meals beyond venue canteens, shopping.
- Tipping (see our tipping guide).
- Tackle hire if your venue charges separately (most resort packages include it; pay-lake day rates often have a small surcharge).
- Travel insurance.
